RCCA Meeting held on September 22, 2009Attendees: Diane Carlton, Doug Hobbs, Judy Endacott, John Wardle, Jim White, Alexandra Fokine Regrets: Howard Birnie, Etty Green, Doug and Lynn Slade Tonight’s meeting will deal with the Scholarship Criteria. Minutes from the previous meeting were moved/seconded/carried. There was no correspondence. Registration Lists – Judy All the lists were merged into one super list. More people are requesting the newsletter via email. The challenge with email is that email addresses changed, but we are not informed of the changes. Website – Karin and Nicolas No report as Karin is absent. Riverdalian No replacement for Jim White. Suggestion of sending a broadcast email to those who attended the 100th Reunion to ask about interest in the alumni and the newsletter. Treasurer’s Report – Diane Carlton We have $10,000 in the account. Membership – Judy Currently we have 750 members. Centennial Award Criteria Centennial Award at $1,500. Do we want two scholarships at $1,500? Criteria for the first Scholarship is marks only. Should achieve a minimum of 75%, participated in school life (volunteer work, student government, arts) and pursue post-secondary education. Judy moved that we accept the following criteria that the award of $1,500 will be given to a student who is continuing their education, should achieve 75%, overall participation in school (eg. sports, student government, music and arts). Seconded by Jim. Motion carried. Recommendation that the Principal of RCI with input for staff make the decision of the recipient. Motion to increase the RCAA Scholarship to $1,500. Seconded by Doug. Motion carried. Will send out a reminder email two weeks prior to the February 24, 2010 meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. |
