CENTURY COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON
MONDAY JUNE 8, 2004
The
meeting began at 7:00 p.m.
in the Teacher's Staff Room and was chaired by Doug Slade.

MINUTES:
The minutes of Jan.13,
2004 with the correction of the spelling of Danni Li's name were moved
to be adopted by Diane Carlton and seconded by Doug Slade. CARRIED

- Nominations
for Chair of 100 th Anniversary Committee - Karin Normann nominated
co-chairs Linda Grieve, Doug Hobbs and Doug Slade, seconded by Colleen
Peacock.
- Follow-up
to Malvern's Reunion
were captured nicely in the June 2004 Riverdalian - Mick Spillane.

Eric Normann is working with Tony Chan,
Riverdale's host master who suggested we set up the Alumni site on an
external server at a cost of $ 92 a year, plus tax. Colleen Peacock
moved we spend $ 92.00 plus tax to set up our own domain for one year.
Seconded by Etty Green.

Karin would like to see students at Riverdale
given 40 hours credit by doing research on Riverdale's entire history
in preparation for the 100 th Anniversary celebrations.

Minutes of Alumni meetings will go online.
100
th ANNIVERSARY SITE - Linda

The new co-chairs will meet in the next
two weeks to discuss various suggestions and options and will report
at the September meeting.

Would like to involve staff members, especially
the Library and History departments (for archives) closer to the date
of our Anniversary.
-
There was a discussion regarding choice
of Anniversary being Mother's Day weekend, but no move to change date.
-
Concern was expressed a Liquor license
if a decision is made to use Riverdale as the venue for the Saturday
evening party if we have one.
NEW
BUSINESS - Mick Spillane
-
Bob Watson was introduced by Mick Spillane
who had volunteered to photograph the pictures in the auditorium of
Riverdale's past principals in order to use them in the 100 th Anniversary
Book. Bob's expertise lies in photography and he graciously agreed to
assist us in this are wherever needed.
